The Girls 2000

By Mark Beresford

Today’s pictures are from 2000. Rosalie was eight and Cerys was four, and they were both cuties.

These would have all been film photos, presumably taken with my Minolta camera and a 50mm lens as that was all I had. Some of the photos must have been taken by Amy because I am in the picture.

Most of the photos are 400 x 600 pixels, which was probably standard for that time. The last eight photos are 1024 x 786 and scanned on a Kodak scanner. We are becoming modern now!

I’ve got to say, I love the look of film.

California Drive By

By Mark Beresford

As I have been organizing all my photos, I’ve been earmarking some that I might want to print or post. Back in 2015 I took a series of photos when traveling through the California Central Coast.

The Girls 1999

By Mark Beresford

Today’s pictures are from 1999.

There were haircuts, birthday parties, vacations at the coast, rollerblading in the street, picnics, jemma cuddles, flowing dresses, trips to the playground, and even some typing! Enjoy!

I find it interesting that as time goes by, the photos become larger and better quality. I’m sure they were taken with the same camera as the 1998 photos, but I the development process probably improved with higher resolution scanning.

The Girls 1998

By Mark Beresford

This week is the girls’ birthday week. Cerys once told me that she doesn’t remember much about her life from when she was younger than 12, which I find sad. So, in celebration of their birthdays, and to help Cerys remember her childhood, I’m doing a project where I try to post a set of photos from each year that I have.

Today’s pictures are from 1998, and they were all taken on a family camping trip to Burney Falls. Rosalie would have been six and Cerys two.

I took these photos on my 35mm Minolta film camera, which I bought when I was about 22. I sent away the film to be developed and the photos were scanned onto a CD at lower resolution. I probably have the original prints somewhere and when I have time would be able to scan them at higher resolution.

Restart

By Mark Beresford

This is not the time to get into details, but a lot has happened since my last post. I haven’t stopped doing photography completely, but I have had very limited time and a lot of other things that have taken priority. So, small steps. I am hoping that I can restart this today as I have had so much enjoyment from photography over the years, and even if I can’t do as much as I would like, I would still like to keep it going on some level.
